Driving Lesson Prices

Important Note: My lesson prices have not changed since 2024. However, with the current and significant increases in the cost of petrol, prices will be reviewed in April 2026. Anyone who has started their lessons with me before the end of March will not be affected by any change in price. 

The following details my standard Monday to Saturday pricing structure for new pupils who are learner drivers only (i.e. with a provisional driving licence). Prices for qualified drivers (seeking refresher sessions or the Pass Plus course) are slightly higher to reflect the increased cost of providing short term or one-off sessions  to full licence holders.

Notes:

(i) I generally only offer one hour lessons to learners who have a learning style or a medical condition where shorter sessions are considered to be more beneficial and are mutually convenient.  The cost of one hour lessons is currently £45 (see note ii).

(ii) The hourly rate is slightly higher for shorter lessons as the lesson price covers the cost of time spent before and after lessons (planning, admin, cleaning, travel, accounting and updating your progress record), which is exactly the same for all lessons, regardless of how long the lesson is.

(iii) The cost of the session on the day of the practical test is outlined in Section 13 (iii) of my terms

(iv) A one off (2 hour) Mock Test session costs £95 (with verbal feedback and a written report) or £80 (with verbal feedback only). This cost is reduced by £5 for any subsequent mock test (after completing the first mock test).

(v) Prices are reviewed in December every year but, at times of high inflation or significant increases in the cost of petrol, prices may be reviewed more than once a year.  You will be notified of any changes in prices at least 28 days before they come into effect.
